LOVE was definitely in the air at this month’s Bunco Night! Our hostess, Karen, made the food and friendship tons of fun!
My heart was aflutter with all the compliments about my costume. 🙂 A simple $2.00 red T-shirt from Walmart and little black lace skirt were the base for themed accessories. Wanna know a secret about these super cute thigh-hi’s? Just snipped off the legs of a pair of tights and…Voilà ! I added several yards of tulle to my $4.00 Buffalo Exchange velvet top hat, and the red feather wings made this Cupid feel like flying!
Thanks Karen, and to my sweet friend, Lynn, for inviting me to sub at Bunco Night! 🙂

Merry Christmas to all MsMona readers!
What a beautiful day to spend with family, here and in spirit. I thought about Mom and how stylish she always looked for church, so I chose this classic black and white Chanel-inspired outfit in her honor. 🙂 Would you guess the jacket and skirt are from different department stores? I was lucky to find this $15.00 I.N.C. jacket at Macy’s (originally $129.00) and mega clearance Allen B skirt at JC Penney. Woo Hoo!
Mom also liked to accessorize, with hats being one of her fashion favorites. I found this netted fascinator at Ross for only $14.99! 🙂 This type of popular headwear can be quite expensive, so I was happy to come across such a special piece. My black patent purse with zipper and flower accents was a $5.00 bargain buy at Charming Charlie – I just removed these chain links from my skirt and clipped them to the front of the bag for a little extra shine!
I hope your Christmas was a magical celebration. Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Another crazy, wonderful evening with the Society of Women Who LOVE Shoes…and Fashion! The gifts poured inside as much as the rain outside, and everyone was warmed with fabulous appetizers and cocktails served by the awesome folks at Social 121. I totally recommend their Crab Cakes – super scrumptious! 🙂
I knew the club would be toasty, so I went with this light black satin and lace dress (a fab $15.00 Macy’s clearance buy) to keep cool at registration. My Target hairband actually matched the dress so I just glued on a ribbon/feathers/rhinestone accessory from Jo-Ann’s (who can go wrong with their 40% off coupon?!). The Husband wore his “new” navy blue pinstripe vest that I found at Goodwill for $2.99. 🙂 He’s really diggin’ this look right now, and I have to say, so am I!
Between this and the Hotel ZAZA event, SWWLS collected:
*209 pairs of shoes
*10 coats and hats
*99 toys for the children!
Many families will no longer have to dream of a special Christmas – this year, it’s their reality. THANK YOU to the generous hearts of our contributors and to the volunteer Dream Team that makes it happen!

For me, the end of November marks the end of the autumn season. Time to put away a few lighter weight pieces and replenish with those cozier textiles…to accompany my hot chocolate and candy canes, of course. 🙂
But before I bundle up, I enjoyed wearing this flirty little resale find from Clothes Mentor in McKinney! The skirt started out with four ruffles – that is, until I asked my tailor to remove the bottom layer and add it to a $.50 headband. :) Topped off with a denim jacket and cowboy boots, I was ready for my final day of fall!
The holidays have begun! What are you wearing to celebrate?

Halloween festivities at the North Texas Chamber was crazy fun! :) We enjoyed a chili and dessert cook-off, face painting, the BACARDI® Vampire Bar, and dancing the night away! Loved wearing my over-the-knee faux leather boots (only $24.99 at Ross), but there must have been a full moon that evening because my dogs weren’t barkin’ – they were HOWLIN’! 🙂
My costume was…well, I called it “Ringmaster of the Dead”. One of my FAV skirts is actually two clearance pieces tailored together so the circle-shape stays fluffy.  I added this cropped satin bolero with ruffled trim (a $9.99 bargain at Torrid), and the most adorable $10.00 headband from The Icing! Adhered to it is a mini black top hat, tulle, and boney white hand with dark red blood droplets all over it. I KNOW, right?! :) click on the image to see more detail
Lynn is my creative buddy – just look at how totally vampy she is in her DIY costume! Misty, our fabulous “Witchtress of Ceremonies”, kept it simple with her sassy stockings and matching fascinator. These ladies, and many more, did a wonderful job putting this event together! Can’t wait for the next NTC par-tay!
