After dealing with a nasty cold the last few weeks, I’m finally back out and about looking for super cute summer sandals.  With so many gorgeous wedge styles out there right now, how do YOU choose?

I’ve always loved a fab jumpsuit – makes me feel like a Superhero!  Or, maybe a super cute mechanic? :)  Anyway, they are not easy for me to find the right fit, so when I tried on this clearance find, I knew it was going home with me!

The $8 Store ($8.88) has some amazing deals!  Items get discounted an additional $2-$4, which is where I was lucky enough to score this gun metal gray one piece. :)  The first stop I made after this purchase was my tailor’s to hem the bottom and cinch the waistline.  As a size 16, it’s big enough to fit my broad shoulders, but the rest had to be pulled in a bit.  Once I add the corset design stretch belt, I’m ready to Fight for Fashion!  Or, change the oil on my husband’s scooter…

As a huge fan of theme parties, I was thrilled to receive an invitation from my friend, Tina, to attend her daughter’s first hosted tea.  The Royal Wedding influenced Miss Jakia’s afternoon with a spread of tempting bites, variety of teas, delicate pastel decor, and a wonderful presentation of her upcoming missionary staff work with Global Aid Network.  Of course, spending quality time with these two gorgeous women was the real treat! 🙂

I knew I was waiting to wear this fun combo for a reason!  I picked up this black ruffle-rimmed taupe skirt at Nordstrom Rack for $11.99 (yea, 40% off their original discounted price), and happened upon a matching flowered fascinator at Charming Charlie – oh, check out Jakia’s feathered headpiece that her friend made for her.  Just right for a special afternoon tea time with the Girls!

Dahlings, what was the last purchase you waited to wear for a specific occasion? 🙂

Once again, the Christian Women’s Connection luncheon was so uplifting!  Not only do I love being around these ladies – just look at this beautiful family of mother, daughter, and granddaughter – but God’s message always leaves me inspired and ready to move forward with an extra spring in my step.  Who couldn’t use a boost like that?! 🙂

And it wasn’t just another day, it was also another maxi dress!  I was fortunate enough to find this Max Edition piece, complete with adorable petite leaf pattern, for an additional discount at 1/2 of 1/2.  A cropped knit jacket, feathery bow headband, and girly pearl accessories rounded out my ultra-comfortable ensemble.

By the way, if you’ve ever wanted to wear a deep V neckline, but didn’t want to show too much, try using a snug camisole or lace-covered bra underneath.  I was so happy to find this Maidenform camisole bra, with the lace already attached, at Ross. 🙂

Although we may not share the same spirituality, I think we can agree there are many things in life to be thankful for.  Do you count your blessings every day? 🙂
